AIMS • Build upon the learning that has and is taking place within the family. • Ensure that your child develops and learns within a happy and secure environment where you and your child feel welcome. • Provide stimulating resources and to ensure appropriate use of them create opportunities for play • Guide your child towards independence through praise and encouragement • Help your child develop a confident and caring attitude to self, others and the environment • Cater for your child's learning needs through planning, assessment, recording and reporting.
CURRICULUM The Pre-school curriculum is developed within a flexible and child centred environment. Nursery Education is about challenging your child and encouraging them to develop into a motivated learner and thinker, full of curiosity about the world around them, confident, eager and looking forward to starting school. The curriculum refers to planned learning experiences based on different aspects of your child's development and learning. These are: • Emotional, personal and social development • Communication and language • Knowledge and understanding of the world • Expressive and aesthetic development • Physical development and movement. An expansion of each of these curricular areas is to be found in "A Curricular Framework for Children 3-5" published by The Scottish Office and the "Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals 2003 (England)" published by the HMSO which we endorse as the foundation for work done at Dynamic Learning.
FREE PLAY RESOURCES During the session at Dynamic Learning Pre-school your child will have the opportunity to play in the: music area, house area, construction area, outdoor/large apparatus area (Summer 2006), sand/water area, garden/outdoor area, painting/gluing/craft area, IT area.
